Had mine three weeks now, DCT version, not brand spanker (I don't do new bikes), came to me with 1800 miles on, now on 2300 gonna add another few hundred tmrw on a shake down ride ahead of a couple of weeks in France beginning of June.
So far well pleased, decent power, great suspension, DCT is ace. Only gripe is seat gets uncomfortable after a couple of hours, butt not looking forward to France

Where do I start.
I took one on a test ride for a few hours.
Lowish seat, light compared to my other rides.
Well built.
Narrow.
I have owned a 2011 Yamaha 1200 S10 from new.
But this is truly gutless compared to the latest steel, I know everyone is different.
The look is spot on.
But the engine is not.
The XT S10 has more grunt.

What sort of tank range are you guys getting? It's only an 18 litre tank I believe?

I test rode one last week and almost instantly liked it (thumbs)

My only small gripe was I felt like I was sitting on it, rather than in it, so to speak. I like to squash the family jewels against the tank, kinda motocross style, but felt I was just too far back on this.

Great bike though and seriously considering a purchase B)

Only used a few tankfuls so far, according to mpg readout I've been averaging 49 mpg over the last three which is only about 170 miles before fuel gauge starts flashing and I then get 14.5/15 L when filling up which, in theory, would give me another 30+ miles before getting nervous.

I did a longish group ride on Sunday and readout showed 55 mpg when I filled up for the 70 miles back home. I don't often do the group ride thing for various reasons, this was typical with a combo of nice back roads and decent A roads but with over a dozen riders there was inevitably more slow/steady parading than A road blasting but by no means an economy run. That mpg would give over 180 miles before light flashing and I would expect 60 mpg (200+ miles 'til warning) to be within easy reach at steady 70/75 cruising and with a bit of restraint on the throttle.

My bike is now only on 2500 miles so maybe a bit more to come when it loosens up. Hope that helps.

I have a Transalp 700 now for 3 years and had a TA650 before.
Great light a nippy bonny.
Problem is only a 200km range at best and in Africa that is not enough for touring. Any suggestions?
