Wow - I just realised how long it has been since I updated this thread!
Here's a quick catch up of the work I've done since the last post:
Seat Concepts seat
Ohlins rear shock
RaceTech front fork upgrades
Highway Dirt Bikes Rallye Lite Fairing
Highway Dirt Bikes handguards and mirrors
Baja Designs lighting
Renthal Grips
Heated grips
Garmin mounted
And i finally got it dirty (ish, the bash plate isn't finished so I had to take it easy)
Building a Honda CRF500L
Re: Building a Honda CRF500L
looks the business, like a production model.how does it "carry" the weight of the bigger engine? (as in,how does it feel to ride?) can it lift the front easily, for crossing logs and climbing rock steps? how much does it weigh?how much did the original bike weigh?
Re: Building a Honda CRF500L
Thanks for all the great comments!
micksea - I will get answers for you soon but, right now, I am fully focused on trying to get the bike ready for the Pyrenees in 11 days! Lots still to do. Riding it is a lot of fun, it seems very well balanced and the engine only weighs about 9kg more than the 250cc and I have stripped of a load of weight elsewhere. I hope to get over to the weighbridge on Saturday.
It certainly has a lot more torque than the 250 right off the bottom end although I could do with 2-3 more teeth on the rear.

Re: Building a Honda CRF500L
That looks fabulous. Me and my mate are always lamenting the fact that Honda don't make a 400 or 450 road useable CRF. Love it.
