Just bought this today

Post by jakew »

Just picked up a 650gs. First bike after a year away in Aus. Really chuffed! After some 17 & 19 tkc 80's or k60's and a set of panniers if anyone knows of any going?

Anyone got any recommendations for dual sport tires or panniers? Cheers

Hi jake,
We meet a few years ago with your dad at the midlands rally...i had the ccm644 in yellow lol...good choice of bike...i like my ortlieb soft panniers and a 20ltr drybag does me ...

As for tyres i like mitas è07 if they fit the gs?....last ages grip well in wet and are okay on gravel trails and salisbury plain...bit like old style k60tyres.?.cheap too so great for travellers lol...

Have a great time in europe whenever you go...

There a very good all round bike and surprisingly good on trails .

I have a front TKC for that will fit your bike. 4th down from the top in this photo.

Hi Tramp, remember your ccm well had all the great mods. Would buy another one they're cracking bikes. Sounds good. I was thinking of buying two 30ltr lomo hold all dry bags and then figuring out some extra rope/bungess and a bit of frame to keep them off the exhausts. Or I might just take the easy route and get an old set of the vario panniers that click straight on to the pre existing frame. Thanks mate, gonna do some weekend trips when the weather gets a bit brighter then head off for a month in the summer if I can :)

   .
Water pump shaft and seal are most common, I bit fiddly but easy enough.
I had a standard 650GS (ie non Dakar) which I rode from Leicester to Wales, did the 2 day Cambrian Rally and rode it home again ..... froze my bollix off but ticked the box :) . Also did many a 2 up tour on that bike ... never let me down.
