Re: Cob special MK2
I thought Dave Nourish would have retired at least 20 years ago because he was knocking on a bit when I had him balance a crank for a race engine in the mid '80s. Lovely bloke who knew everything there was to know about making Nortons go fast (thumbs)

Dave retired and sold the name on to an outfit in Essex about five years back. Before he did,he made five final crankshafts two of which are in Cob's mk1 & Mk2. The others went as spares to international customers. He'll be around 88/89 yrs old now. I took some video of the old machinery and workshop before he shut up shop.we'll never see the likes of it again.AndyB wrote:I thought Dave Nourish would have retired at least 20 years ago because he was knocking on a bit when I had him balance a crank for a race engine in the mid '80s. Don't "Nice one" me mate ! :laugh:daytona-supersport wrote:I've just wet myself.
Looks bloody lovely. Nice one mate. (thumbs)
I'm only the person that sits on it with a pair of bars pretending we're at Pykes Peak already . It'll be finished when my good friend  Johnny B feels like working on it ! (thumbs)
In between times. I've just spent ten hours changing the discs all round on my transit, which is supposed to be only a four hour job ? So why would I want to waste an entire weekend fettling bikes instead ?   ( 2hrs mind, was probably wasted trying to read the Haynes manual through the oily finger marks I'd plastered all over it.)
Re: Cob special MK2
Picked uo from exhaust fabricator today, driving up to Telford dirt bike show with it Saturday where it'll be transferred afterwards to Wasps again to have a tank made, (couldn't be done without the pipes and carbs in place first)

We took it for SVA approval last Christmas eve, and it failed on a number of (mostly safety related ) issues.
Now though, it's finally on a 19 plate and JB has moved on to another project now ? A 50cc Kreidler racer !!
