The only other things I did to it were disconnect and lube the throttle cables and tick over screw then check the TPS was still sitting at 0.74
Have checked there is definitely a spark, fuel pump priming and fuel getting to the plug.
Very tempted to go buy a box of matches and rid myself of it all together.

Sorted.

So it would appear that when I had the throttle cables and tick over screw off to lube them I had put them back without enough play which meant it wasn't closing all the way, and I then set the TPS with a slightly open throttle position.
Once I introduced some slack and rechecked, the TPS was reading 0.65, so reset to 0.74 and it fired up.

Found a novel solution to the seat fixing. This is one of those wing bolts that you find holding a divan base together.
As you can see it was a bit bigger than the washer I put it through so ground it down and rounded off the head of the screw a bit to remove any sharp edges and voilà easy fit seat screw. ImageImageImageImage

Stripped the exhaust off the WK400 to give them a refurbish, thought about modifying it to a single pipe but the original still has plenty of life in it once cleaned up

Stripped the rust and paint off the header pipe and tubes to the mufflers ready for 3 coats of heat proof black. 8-)

The plan was to repaint the mufflers in satin black but decided on the semi polished aluminium look,............... lots of brass wire wheels, dust, 1200 grit wet n dry and aluminium polish later :o

Looking good, obviously yours weren't suffering from the vibration fractures mine had.

I'm now toying with the idea of fitting a lambda sensor mount on my aftermarket pipes as it's running very rich and still occasionally cutting out under hard acceleration.

Got my GS back on the road so I've got time to work on the 400, though toying with the idea of selling it.

Will see how I feel once lockdown is over and we can get back out again.

One of the muffler's has a small fracture but put some JB weld in it for the time being as it's not that bad.......don't sell yours you will miss the challenge :lol:

I've actually been considering putting a smaller front wheel on it with road tyres and using it for MotoGymkhana but time will tell.

Well the sun came out this afternoon and armed with a brew in hand set about reinstalling the exhaust system, new gaskets as well :mrgreen:

Very pleased with the look :D ..........roll on the day we can all go out for a ride :(

Hi All
Anybody know where I can get a bushing rubber and sleeve for the top of the suspension leg as on this one the sleeve has warped and allows slight up/down movement in the rear tyre which might not be good for the MOT?
