The seller is going to add vat to the final price, so that's the thick end of £4k already!

I don't agree with this VAT on second hand goods nonsense. VAT was paid when it was sold new so why should the VAT man get another wad of cash.

Maybe the Vat was reclaimed on the original purchase - so now vat is due on the used sale

I bet VAT was never paid when it was new if it was purchased by the government.

Been watching a few on ebay and few get what their asking for them.

We were talking about this at work.

When the all new AT hits the streets one of 2 things will happen. The bottom will drop out of the old AT second hand market or they will increase in value.

we work for a Motorcycle dealer and we can't decide which way it will go

I was talking to a bike dealer a few months back who said that the trade in value for an RD07a would be about £900.

i don't think they will increase in value ...i think they have already topped out price wise ...so i predict a downward trend as more will appear for sale, especially if the trade in is going to be so poor from a dealer.

That maybe what one of the trade value books suggest, or a value based on one individual bike.
You need to be more specific than 'an RD07A is worth £900'

Mileage, condition, what's it need. etc etc.
And yes, I have worked in the trade. 15 years time served. Released now. Phew.

Just to clarify, he wasn't quoting for a specific bike. He looked in his little
book and quoted for an RD07a with 20k+ miles on the clock. I am guessing that the
majority of RD07a models out there have more than 20k on the clock.
I paid over 4 times that amount for mine when I bought it last year, so I think they
are worth more. Also I have never seen an RD07a for sale in a shop for less than about
£3500. If the new AT is the game changer people are expecting, then my guess is that
prices for the old AT's will drop back to XTZ750 territory
