Finally got a day in the garage to make progress on Idris´ fork rebuild with Ohlins springs etc. Some embarrisingly mucky fork oil as well as shot seals.

An update with some results.
From the test, using an old Android tablet as GPS:

This was successful.

Large and clear screen.
And so far it has not failed due to vibrations.
For the app:
There are so many GPS apps for Android.
And there seams to be as many suggestions as persons.
But I selected OSMAND.
The free version includes possibility to download 7 maps from OSM
The planning part is very hard /useless.
For anything else than from A to B.

But the a like the navigation. Colors, zooming.... easy to understand.

I have used GPX files from base Camp and from other sources
And can store them on the memory card.
Together with the maps.
No problem with internal memory

it works well both for track and route files. The tracks are converted to routes.
And navigation works nice.
Especially for trails.

So it works well as an alternative for my Garmin.
In nice weather.

I added some waterproof panniers and a new tank bag to my Honda.

The luggage rack is not that stable. But will be OK, as long as I do not load it too much.
I had planned to use Lomo bags. I asked for information about measurements for mounting.
I received good serve. A picture with measurements. But I could not figure out a way to mount these on my add rack.
I found a solution at 21 brothers
http://21brothers.eu/produkt/sakwy-30l/

I won't use them that much. So I was not willing to pay for a Mosko Moto rackless setup.
Well. I fit them bags. And it works OK.
The old tank bag had been used for too long. So I bought a new one with magnets.

A top case I had since before.
And also a waterproof backpack.
And a 50 liters dry bag that I could put on the pillion seat.

So I have alternatives. But all at one time would be too much.

I also had time for a test ride.

Pulled my project bike out of the shed for a bit of a look. Beefed up front end from my XJR1200.

Just be aware, if your Versys goes for a "nap" the foot may well hit the swingarm....DAMHIK

Side stand play sorted, as extension was touching chain. No more. Plugs and air filyer changed. I was hoping to do oil amd filter too, but seller delayed oil shipping. All nice and tidy under fairings.ImageImageImageImage
