Well, the upgrades/repairs/improvements weren’t actually done today….or by me, although I did get the bike back and pay for it last night and take the pictures this morning.

The long talked about, much waited for and needed new wheel rims are finally propping up my lovely old Africa Twin! A new MOT, a set of tyres and some fresh brake pads at the rear and its roll on spring time.

I know that MarkVB will now rest easy as he won’t have to feel obliged to enquire after the RD04 and its wheels….all done Mark. Done to the legend that is Tom’s usual high standards all be it with his trade mark “I’ve done the job” greasy finger prints. Old school at its best!

So without further wittering here it is, still needing a clean, the bike as it stands now.

Greetings all,

The handlebar muffs make a massive positive difference for my hands but there was a draft I took them to Timpsons, had eyelets inserted so that I can close up the gap by tying a shoe lace. Only a ride out will prove if I am right

Took the Beta X-Trainer out for a little shakedown to see if it needs anything much doing to it before the Launceston and Lands End (daylight only) trials.
It's easy to forget how much fun it is.
Going to change the fork and gearbox oil, and will update my existing thread on the bike with some of the other little mods.

Greetings,

Some thing nagging in the back of my mind made me want to investigate an intermediate speedo and to change the fork oil of the Pampera today. Whilst taking the wheel out I heard something drop on to the floor but at first I could not see what it was. My lucky day!

Oh, does anybody have a spare speed sensor pickup and lead for sale please?
