Treat every situation like a dog..
If you can't hump it or eat it, piss on it and walk away.

Last time I used my 1982 R80st was @ a Classic bike rally in the Picos mountains in May last year.
This is an anual event run by the MC Piston club.
Lazily when I got home the bike was put under a 10 pound chinese cover & almost forgotten about.
So today after it's languish outside for 9 months the cover was removed, & the bike was wheeled to a better vantage point in the garden.
No sticking brakes, stand returned on it's springs & the headrace bearings were nice & free.
Petrol taps on (old fuel) ignition on (wow........lights) full choke, no throttle half a dozen enthusiatic turns of the starter motor & she's alive.
What a great machine this old ST still is.
Underated in their day as the street version of the G/S but what fantastic road holding & mountaineering ability.
Next trip for her is the Westward Ho Night Trial in 3 weeks time. I use it for this because she qualifies @ over 25 years old & has fantastic lights.

Took the XJR out of its winter hibination, started first press on the button, went for a 50 mile cruise around the country side, accidently filled up with 97 octain, it went like a rocket and felt a lot smoother than i remember..must be the expensive petrol or just the sun shine.

Well, The GS1200 has had a new rear shock fitted, Hagon, So took it out for a short test ride on Saturday. Much better now. Yesterday took a few bits off for re-powder coating. Today dropped them off at powder coaters, LSN in Castleford, highly recommended.
Made a light bracket for XCountry, going to try some led,day running lights, DRL's. will post some pick's when it's done.
Cheers Dave.

Had the bike cleaned by Jon Holloway of All Year Biker before putting her in the garage for the next 6 months.
