Wow, that's stunning. Do those exhausts really double back and come out the front? Blimey.dave h wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 5:16 pm nice one i came across,

Well spotted.daveuprite wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 7:37 am The original bike is lovely, and I don't have any problem with the new bike either, but it has quite a few visual differences to the original,
But the disc did not change side,
The 1974 and 75 850 T had a drum bake rear and one disc at front.
( I know since I owned one 850 T -74, from 1980 => . Very rare model)
From 1976 and onward, the model was called 850 T3 and got 3 discs.
One rear and two front.
Foot break worked on one front and the rear disc.
Hand break worked on the other front disc.
Excellent system, before ABS times. =
Sorry for bad focus on the picture....

Fairing, rack, panniers and top case were purpose made in Sweden
Look how well the panniers are shaped and placed.
Front follows shock absorber.
Bottom follows exhaust.
Not like on modern bikes. Where they sit very high up.
Bottom of top case == same height a seat for the driver
Compare to modern bikes....
Imagine what this does for Center of gravity and handling of the bike.....

Mudguards of stainless steel cost about 100£ extra each compared to plastics.Richard Simpson Mark II wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 9:16 am IIRC the mudguards on the original are stainless steel, not chrome. Contrary to what you hear, Guzzis back in the day were far better finished than the Japanese bikes of the time.
That is probably why they don't have them on the retro bikes.
