You will now have to take the MV out in the rain to check that your USB port is waterproof. 🌨daveuprite wrote: ↑Mon Nov 29, 2021 6:12 am OK, went for this one in the end. Thanks again for the suggestions...

Never. She is a garage queen, pampered and sheltered from the elements. Her masseur alone is costing me a fortune.Cornishman wrote: ↑Mon Nov 29, 2021 9:25 amYou will now have to take the MV out in the rain to check that your USB port is waterproof. 🌨daveuprite wrote: ↑Mon Nov 29, 2021 6:12 am OK, went for this one in the end. Re: USB handlebar charging
just read this thread. Agree on the power drain issue. So I have a capped (waterproof) 12V cig lighter permanently wired(fused) to the battery--and simply plug in a quality 12v to USB cig lighter male when required--some are clever and give you a voltage readout, all seem to have an LED warning light---they are cheap as chips and I have a few scattered about tank bags and the like. The bigger issue for me is the number of different plug formats for your phone, power bank and so on, so I have to carry a few adapters. On a trip I also have a starter pack which doubles as a power bank with USB outlets--and this can be charged whilst sitting in the tank bag (from the 12V cig lighter outlet). The 12V cig lighter outlet is also man enough to allow battery charging on the bikes--always useful--and no power drain or fussy connectors.

Greetings,
Forgot to mention that if you have/use an Optimate type charger then you can obtain an additional extension USB adapter/lead which, whilst riding the bike, could be connected to the battery charger lead.
