For those who want to look at the other options a simple Google search will find you interesting information on the La Rochelle year long experiment using hydrogen engines on their ferry service and the work that JCB have already done in this field.

Hydrogen is very interesting, but it's made either from fossil fuel or electricity. Best seen as a gas battery.

I posted a link to the JCB video some time ago--the benefits are that its the same basic engine structure as their current diesels, but spark ignited hydrogen--and hydrogen can be delivered in bottles to any work site. Also storage on the vehicle doesn't take up any more room that a conventional diesel tank as the energy delivery per m3 stored is good. For safety concerns there are porous metal substrates that can be placed inside the tanks and will release hydrogen at a rate commensurate with the engine's requirements, but NOT at a rate that will allow a significant fire to develop or an explosion. A bit like mother nature--like that abandoned open gas mine in Northern Russia which was deliberately set on fire, but has been burning steadily for many years as the gas filters its way out--they thought it was mined out!

And this is prior to replacing ICE with electric cars, gas boilers with electric heat etc.

Ironic that 'climate change' is supposed to make the weather windier, but it isn't. They have the same problem in New Zealand.

Time to reopen some mines.

The great Drax woodchip scandal...burning local coal would cause far less damage and create more jobs in the UK

All this talk of climate change and water levels rising is just bullish””. Just a excuse for people to stick them selves to the m25. Here is a picture of one end of the Great Wall of China It ends in the same sea at the same level as when it was built. Go figure
