Beemer: Spring Strut Adjustment

This popped up on my screen this afternoon.

I called the dealer and they said come in but I was out on a ride over Dartmoor with a mate so I tried the only technical response I know; Contro, Alt, Delete.

I turned the machine on and off a couple of times, changing my suspension settings in Mode and got absolutely nowhere.

The bike is four years old and has done almost 30,000 hard miles. Has anyone had this problem before? Is it going to be expensive or could it be a software tweak? 🤞

Thanks Huge,

That looks like my fault, though it still looks like I’ll have to go to the dealer to reset the computer.

One of the guys there mentioned sensors screwing up if he used the Kill switch. I had the same problem in a hot country with my fuel cap. The fuel cap wouldn’t open if the bike was stopped with the kill switch rather than the start button.

Update

I took the bike into Ocean BMW and they ran some diagnostics.

On Auto setting for the suspension the switch has warned that it is failing to recalibrate so I was advised to switch to the Lower setting and monitor things. If this stops the warnings it looks like a switch problem. If the warnings persist, a new rear suspension unit will be needed.

Fingers crossed.

Yep, I’d get the dealer to remove the screen :D
