Givi Monokey

Post by lancashirelad »

I’m after a plate to fit a monkey box to my Precision Made Racks enduro rear rack, I was thinking Givi E251 but this came up at £28 but I can’t fathom how you’d fit a top box to this?

Looks more like the kind of thing you'd attach a cap-mount tank-bag to. It's nothing like my Givi plate, which locates the box at the front and rear edges.

That’s for the givi tank lock tank bags so you can fit one on a rear rack.

I did consider that but couldn’t decide, I’m getting a collection of Givi mounts as I remove them before sale of the bike, I’ve one for a SW Motech Street rack, one for a SW Motech alu-rack, also a Givi tank bag that would fit the above mount, I find it’s not worth selling them sec hand so keep them just in case. I’m not convinced a Givi E251 will mount my trekker box I contacted PMR Racks in the US as their website says the racks are Givi ready, but all they said was they think I need a universal mounting plate?

Yes, they say monokey ready but as you say need a monokey base to bolt to the rack rather than just fit the top box. I have an aluminium givi monokey base on my multi and can measure the bolt spacing if you do get a rack and want to see if that is the case?

The PMR rack is fitted to the bike but before I do anything else I need to ride the bike & see if it’s suitable for my needs, if not I might be selling the lowest mileage KLX in existence as it’s only done 363 miles!!
