What’s the wire to pull the valve through the rim thing called?
I’ve never heard of it, but having struggled getting the valve relocated I’d be interested to get one of its magic.

Mine is the MDR type the brass bit screws into one end of the handle for storing

I find that if I ride along a bit with the tyre flat it will heat up the tyre and usually pop one side off the bead.

I can concur with this 100%.

was watching Lyndon Poskett doing a tube replacement on you tube, and he has a neat trick of using two ordinary tyre levers to break the bead. Push them in back to back, one on top of the other and press down on the tyre! its the same principle as the motion pro bead breaker but with out the cost!! very clever...

I tried the motion pro jobbies on GS12 yesterday (replacing the battery in the TPS). I left the wheel in sun for an hour until the tyre felt good and warm. The levers got a good grip on the rim and the tyre but I couldn’t get enough pressure on the bead to get it to break away. Some lube in there would have undoubtedly helped and I reckon I would have got it off with a bit more effort and something better on my feet than sandals but I gave up and took it to a workshop.

I agree that adding warmth riding low pressure/flat sun etc is a big help, but for those whom may have not the experience the bead can be a lot more difficult on tubeless and again the lovely Mitas Dakar types can also be pigs. Rode on a rear tubed E09 Dakar once on a 640 with no air whilst carrying luggage could barely tell it was airless, then it toke 3 or 4 prods from the sidestand of a 990 with both wheels off the ground to push it down.

Have tried getting one lever under the other myself with little success but Dibbs have you got a link to that vid by any chance, Poskitt is a bit handy.
