Greetings,
Just quick reminder if I may, wear safety glasses and ONLY ever use hexagon impact sockets with an impact gun as standard sockets can shatter
I also prefer impact sockets because they do not tend to attract the 'magpie' looking for shiny things.

Re: Air Compressor Advice please...
we bought the biggest one from Machine Mart that will run off a 13A supply--runs air tools fine including an air saw, die grinder, mirka polisher etc. For a ratchet gun we have a BIG DeWalt Li Ion one--and that shifts anything, the air one is ok but the battery job is much more useful being portable.
I just use a 3M set of noise cancelling ear defenders with built in radio (or will plug into an Ipod etc)--bought from Newark auto jumble at about 12 quid--no questions asked--brand new, as were a lot of other useful consumables on the stand--we run air sanders as well.
