Thanks for that dude, as ive got shit loads of time I've put the hours in, some good some bad but all coming on well, you have to think ahead 10 steps like what goes there is it going to line up will it be level how high how low and frequently it wrong then you gotta move it or completely remake it which can be back breaking as werkin on the floor.

Again pure guesswork on the seat base, im just building it till it looks in proportion and looks not out of place, im copying pictures on the net but there is many variations
The seat base had to be done in 3 sections as the bend across using 1.5 mm was just to difficult. And needed a sharp angle.

Not actually gonna sit on the base to drive it but it needed to be very strong and very straight so riveted and bonded a thick alloy strip to allow the seat base back to lock in and gets tighter the more its pushed then a few clips to hold it down. It now comes out as one large section.

Seat base and floor nearly done, the floor panels are supported from the chassis on webbing pads and all bolt together which makes is structurally solid.

The round gearstick hole isnt right and needs to be square also i will put a fake transfer lever and 4wd knobby thing!

It's an interesting project for sure ! Just out of interest, are you planning to submit it to VOSA for single vehicle approval ?
( I took a ground up built bike for approval last year and it failed. Needed a host of things correcting before it's re-test, mostly safety issues.)
Fortunately the re-test is only 15 quid or so.

Hmmm i dont think they will ever allow it on the road as you sit on it rather than in it.

It will have lights etc but the Number plate will only be half the size ( little less) of a real one.

Do you reckon it would be worth presenting it to see if its a possibility?

Well the test was £85 and £15 for the re-test. Failed on stuff like protruding edges likely to cause injury, exhaust noise, incorrect electrical requirements for gauges and lights and some other anal stuff. All the requirements are available from VOSA, but it's impossible to get it right. The first test just hi lights stuff you'd never have thought of, but at least you then know what precisely has to be corrected.
The tester said completely ground up builds are actually quite rare, most SVA tests are for new imported vehicles.

PS . They don't show any kind of interest or enthusiasm for you beloved vehicle. Mainly because unlike familiar imports, a ground up requires their full testing attention for several hours.

I say go for it ! ................(I've got CBR600 single seater possibly heading in the same direction)

Don't want to muscle in on this threads so just one pic.
Last outing was at Crystal Palace Race meeting in 2013.It's like sports bike performance only you can't fall off !!! Current race reg's make it too expensive to upgrade for me ,so It sits idle now in my work shop. My mate Johnny B keeps egging me on to legalise it just for a laugh !

So still covid isolated in the garage and still keeping the enthusiasm going cos naff all else to do, its coming on nicely apart from dropping both headlights at 3am and totalling them
