Re: F800gs shiver fork conversion
Really enjoying this post just goes to show what you can do.nice skills though you will probably end up with a set of forks better than Ohlins or WP.when you cut down your springs how did you get them flat at the ends with a bit of heat and grinding? ?.I might have to take a bit out of my puzey forks.cheers tony.

Re: F800gs shiver fork conversion
Well after 20 miles of the most pot hole ridden back roads I could find all I can say is fanfookintastic
:woohoo: (thumbs) :woohoo:
The front end is stable, planted and tracks amazingly. So much more confidence in the front end and the massive front end dive under braking is hugely improved.
It soaks up everything with ease (needs slight adjustment on the clickers but that can wait till i hit the trails next weekend)
The only thing I noticed is it needs more preload as the sag is too much so ill drop a bigger spacer in tommorow and re measure
Can also adjust the amount of travel I have by adjusting the travel spacer (currently stock travel as i still have the standard rear shock)
Very impressed with how this conversion turned out and would recommend it to anyone with a 800gs
If anyone wants this conversion done gimme a shout
