Lockdown bimble

Post by PHILinFRANCE »

We've been given a bit of a reprive here in the South of France , we can go out within a 20km radius for 3 hours :P

So at midday i tanked up the 400

And left for the woods , the route i chose didn't start for nearly a whole kilometre from home :o

Within 50m i turned off the trail into the woods , and started some route bashing

Back on a well used trail

Nipped under the autoroute

Image20201130_135014 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr

To the eastern woods

Image20201130_135721 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr

Followed that trail down to the Dorgogne river , but this tributary had been clean out and was a lot deeper than it looks, and bloody cold

Back on a single tracks , my favourits

At the top

The hill in the middle is where i was last pic

Image20201130_142730_002 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr

Its all hills and valleys here , big limestone are and plenty of caves, this one goes in for mile but i forgot my torch so i'll have to go back

This pic is of one very long steep climb , i'd stalled the bike here and was lucky to get going again

Another sumit

Image20201130_144122 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr

What goes up must come down

Image20201130_144217 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr

Some trails end a boar wallows , dug by chasseurs , the black stuff on the trees is a sented lure

Image20201130_144748 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr

Image20201130_144811 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr

I can be dangerous trail riding solo so my speed was kept low , one advantage of this i get to see new trails, this one a steep climb across the road made me think twice but went for it anyway ...................only just made it , bloody steep

Image20201130_150959 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr

I was rewarded with a great view from the top

Image20201130_151329 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr

But no trail

Hacked through the undergrowth untill i found signs of civilasion

Sun was getting low so headed home

Image20201130_153303 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr

Image20201130_153319 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr

Home safe and sound , the 400 never missed a beat , proper little tractor

Image20201130_161800 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr

Image20201130_162328 by Philip Parkinson, on Flickr

38.5km in 4hrs ......1 hour over my time :? but i saw one car in the whole time , TOTAL GRIDLOCK

....................... JAX SHACK will be back open in the new year .........................fingers crossed

Great stuff Phil. The low sun right now is both good for photos and very difficult.

Still think that tube/tunnel shot is a bit gynaecological. Phil was not really delivered, He was forged.
