France for D-Day 75th Anniversary

It's been a while since I have been on here, alas. New job and a young toddler has curtailed the biking (before this trip it was just under a year since I had my leg over the Triumph!).

For my 40th, with a few mates, we travelled to Normandy for a week for the 75th D-Day anniversary. Phenomenal was all I can say! My first time in mainland Europe on a bike and it won't be the last.

Glad you had a great trip. Yes a very interesting area - dripping in reminders of the sacrifices made by so many. And all not far from the ferry port at Cherbourg.

Absolutely, you could spend many weeks in Normandy alone.

It was, at times, quite intense but also profoundly interesting. They've done a great job of preserving the sites.
