Ride out on new bike

Just got new bike had 2 good ride outs about 130 miles in Total mostly B roads and single track (thumbs)

Looks a real beauty! My very first bike was a James from about the same era. Your picture brought back memories for me, I became a Villiers expert at a very early age. Enjoy your new bike! Nige

Lovely, I had a 250 twin whenI was 17 - a truly horrible engine so I guess you have the better deal!

This is the 199cc amc engine that apparently villiers helped design , I love it been out on it again today even went along part of Roman road by lower swell

The second bike I owned was a Fanny Barnet 225cc single. Not particularly fast but was ok after I polished the ports and skimmed the head.

That's looking great, beautifully restored. There is a big following for these early two strokes. I had a Fanny Barnet as a youngster, did lots of miles and apart from it nipping up occasionally never gave any problems. Just sat beside the road for a while having a fag until it cooled down, then a quick kick and off we go. Nowt wrong with Fanny. (thumbs)

PS. Mine was never that clean and shiny.

Mine had the Villiers 250 twin engine, never could get the timing right, although in hindsight tat was probably me ... :whistle:

Done about 350 miles on her now have adjusted carb and few little jobs going really well now out today with mate on ariel arrow , we swapped bikes on way back the arrow is so smooth there is rumour they inspired the Suzuki 2 strokes to late 60's (thumbs)
