Cairngorm mountain Ski report Nov 2016 on Viagra!

Hi all, well I decided it was time for old Viagra to show its worth today, so used it to do the ski report for this weekend!
WTF is old Viagra? Well, it's a 1981 Yamaha XV920 Virago that I restored over the last couple of yrs in my spare time! I decided to use it as a winter hack for this year, save my CRF from the dreaded salt! Any way, on with the report!
I set off for a ride today as the sun had came out, first heading to the coast to Lossiemouth, a gorgeous day, showing the beach at Lossie in all it's winter glory.
Then along the coast to the town of Burghead, site of an old fort, a lovely shot of the harbour.
I then set off inland to the snowline, up the Davah moor to Lochindorb. Untreated roads led to a brown trouser moment when the bike slid straight off the road on to the grass on black ice! I got the bike stopped on the grass upright so no harm done!
I then headed up to the Cairngorm mountain ski centre, no skiing yet, a covering of iced over snow, loads of kids up with their parents were sledging across from the main car park, but no skiing yet!

I stopped off at the lower car park to check out the snow to find it was more hard packed ice than snow! These little bikes are really handy for paddling when the going gets really slidy! On the Africa Twin I'd have been on my arse in this icy surface for sure!
Finally, my thoughts on old Viagra. I'm not usually into cruisers but I can certainly see the allure. The old bike pulls from as low as 20mph in top gear! It's a silky smooth power delivery from the 920cc shaft drive motor. The brakes are a bit wooden but to be expected on an 80's bike, which makes it hard work scrubbing off speed from three figures, which I did see on the speedo! 120 miles to 12 litres of petrol so not really that thirsty, I must admit, I was surprised by the bike and can't fault it as a comfortable plodder, the seat's like an armchair!
