Dorset Unclassified County Roads

Post by Womble »

Anyone here from Dorset able to confirm that the Purbeck Ridgeway route is legitimate? I've looked at the definative map online and checked against Google maps (where it does not appear as a road), but according to the def map it's a legitimate green lane to ride. It's that shown in light blue, BOAT are in red.

oops - just realised wrong section, can a mod move it?

I believe it's a legal route and the research you've already done pretty much confirms that, but join the TRF and get it confirmed. The only proviso is if there's a traffic prohibition order on it, I've looked and can't find one but if there's the flying motorcycle over a car sign don't use it.

I recall the route being slippery chalk when wet.

Ha, of course Chris :)

I'll try and find out from the TRF, there are some really excellent UCRs about, very clever I think on the part of the county council as effectively the green lanes are hidden in plain sight.
