Re: scotlands hidden GEM
Been there...sailed our own boat and arrived on a Sunday morning having spent the night at Staffa. An amazing trip.
Any classical music lovers might have heard of Mendelssohns 'Fingal's Cave. The cave is on Staffa and it inspired his Hebridean suite.
My travelling friend just landed on Lewis this evening. Coincidence for sure.

It is stunningly beautiful there, but although those photos could allude to it...no tropical paradise. On a day as glorious as captured by those photos, the sea even with 'train yourself up to it with daily cold showers' is knacker shrinking & the wind gale force. Peaceful though
With enough profanity, you can accomplish anything

Stunning pics, Al.
There's a lot of people would never think that was Scotland.
Fingal's Cave is a really good piece of music. I've always wanted to go there.

Had one of the best days of my life on that boat, sailed from Clevedon to Ilfracombe and back. It was just magiclancashirelad wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 8:09 am We went to Iona on the paddle steamer Waverley, quite a few years ago now, we must be due another visit?

And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.

Swim in it, lie on your back inside it, its just amazing. As for the beaches, idyllic. Hospitality is an open door. Feel the air, smell the sea.daveuprite wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 6:25 am Stunning pics, Al.
