A few years ago I got off the boat and stuck to the coast heading West on the roads though, nice enough quite a dramatic coastline in places, predictably a good bit cooler than the interior. I have no real striking memories thinking about it, nice food in places, If it were me I would probably have a plan B, I beleive its called the Costa Verde there is more than likely a reason it is green. Not really much help really thinking about it, the cooler temps could be an advantage how far inland that occurs I do not know. Heres a pic anyway.

Totally agree with Bikenav's impressions.

We've trail ridden enduro bikes around Galicia and it can be very wet and foggy but on a good day it's worth the effort, we've also ridden around Pontferrada in adjoining Leon, we have pictures from there but none in Galicia which probably meant it rained all the time so didn't get the camera out.

I also worked in Galicia once and can confirm that I spent most of the time in a wet and boggy forest reminiscent of a Welsh one.

I don't think it still runs but we took a ferry from Saint Nazaire to Gijon.

Actually I did find one photo in Galicia which shows how green it is.

And a gold mine near to Pontferrada which shows how much drier it is inland.

It’s a beautiful part of the world. We too have only ridden the roads, apart from the odd farm track.

IMHO Asturias is more dramatic with high mountains reaching the sea forming lots of little swimming coves and fishing villages - think Cornwall on steroids.
First time we went was 95, we made our way west dipping in and out - mountains to coast, it really is stunning. The further west we went the less touristy it became - in those days it was just Spanish tourists. By the time we got to the far west of Galicia it was proper working fishing towns and villages - not industrial in nature, due to their size, but not cutesy. Suited us as the accommodation was cheap and the seafood excellent - if you love to eat fish and seafood it really should be on your list. Oh and this was before the world had discovered Alberino so the wine was cheap too 🥂

I think the only reason that we haven’t returned year after year is because there are just too many other places to discover. We have been back a few times over the years and have noticed that tourism is spreading west and what was once a fishing village now caters more for tourists.

One place we haven’t got to yet is the far north of Galicia up around Carino - it’s on the list, we’re hoping the tourists haven’t turned up yet.

As for the weather well, like Ireland, it’s green for a reason. In August it will be warm possibly humid some days but you will have sunshine and showers. Most of the time the showers are short but we did ride for 5 hours in biblical rain once.

Ummmm, I wonder if we can squeeze in a detour this year 🤔

Sadly it doesn’t run any more. We have some friends just outside Nantes and it was perfect for us to pop in and see them for a couple of days then an overnight to NW Spain.

I haven’t ridden in Galicia so I can’t comment on that but have walked through it and it’s gorgeous! I went through in July and had great weather.

Galicia is as hilly and green as Devon and these are real cops, going around on horses.

I’d love to ride the trails. Galician food is quite distinct and delicious. Have a great time and write it up for us.
