Hi all.
Thought i would add to the thread.

Working in holland week.
Nightmare and i,m working !
Need a letter from company saying i am allowed not to isolate on arrival.
Need pcr test and rapid antigen test = £280 and that because i am doing ferry direct to holland.- tunnel via france was a no-no.
Need day 2 covid test in uk on my return (£80).

I need about 4 forms to take with me plus my 2 jab covid app.

What a load of hassle - but it does keep us safe apparently. :D

UK government is moving France from 'Amber Plus' to 'Amber'.

Looks like Johnson has finally found an atlas. France was on amber plus mainly because one miniscule island in the southern Indian Ocean, Reunion, that's still technically part of France, had high cases of Beta variant.

Anyway, now you can travel to and from France with a double vax certificate without quarantining, which might make all the difference for ABR folk wanting to tour France and get back for work or whatever in the UK.

I think a test is still required before leaving France and before day 2 when back in Blighty. Anyone know if the nhs lateral flow tests would be acceptable?

Yeah, just trying to find out about that right now. This might help:

Looks like the amber (rather than amber plus) status will change this Sunday night.

Day 2 test in England coming from France is a PCR. Pretty sure you only need a lateral flow before departing France though. We've opted for a PCR test on Monday, before travelling on Wednesday.

Has anyone recently taken the ferry from the UK to the Netherlands en route to Germany?

Unless you're an EU National, or have an exemption, you can't.
Dutch government currently not allowing it.
We've been trying to travel to Germany (where we have a property) for some months now, so have been checking the website almost every day, but it hasn't changed yet.
We travel with our seven dogs and don't want to have to do it via France into Germany as we live in Northumberland and the DFDS route to Ijmuiden is much more convenient.

It looks like this changed over the weekend.

As of 8 August the Dutch authorities will change its classification of the UK from ‘a very high risk country with a variant of concern’ to ‘a very high risk country’ which will mean that fully vaccinated UK nationals, who can provide acceptable proof of vaccination, which includes the NHS COVID Pass, will be allowed to enter the Netherlands. Children under the age of 18 travelling with vaccinated adults are not required to show proof of vaccination. Please see “demonstrating your vaccine status” below, for further information.
