This is an interesting article from El Pais, https://english.elpais.com/society/2021 ... 1614684158
Basically, at the current rate of vaccination, by the end of summer, only 20% of the Spanish population will be vaccinated. If the rate of deployment increases by 400%, only 58% will be vaccinated by the end of summer, which is somewhat short of the 70% they want to open for tourism.

General duty of lockdown until Easter
The general duty of confinement will continue until Easter, with António Costa considering that this is one of the "general rules" that must be maintained in the coming weeks, meaning that people should stay at home whenever possible.
The prime minister stated that the general lockdown will be reassessed after Easter, recalling that it can only exist when there is a state of emergency.

So lets hope for some freedaom to travel after eastern.
But we will have to wait fro nect decision

FRANCE LATEST 12 MARCH 2021
I just copy-and-pasted this from a 'Connexion' article about travel between France and the UK and vice versa. It's primarily for second home owners but the principles apply to most potential travellers
The French government has relaxed restrictions for travel between the UK and France, making it no longer necessary for people to provide an essential reason (motif impérieux) for their journey.
France eases Covid rules for UK and other non-EU travel
This will also apply to travel to and from France and the UK, Australia, South Korea, Israel, Japan, New Zealand and Singapore.
This means that from the French side, people in the UK are now allowed to go on holiday to France or to visit their second homes.
The problem lies on the UK side. It is still not permitted for people to travel abroad for a holiday.
The UK government states on its website: “under current UK Covid-19 restrictions, you must stay at home. It is illegal to travel abroad for holidays”.
https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice
The earliest date that people from England will be allowed to travel abroad for a holiday is May 17, the government has stated.
Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have not yet announced their plans for allowing trips abroad.
As long as France does not tighten its travel restrictions again, then the earliest possible date for someone living in the UK to visit their second home in France is May 17.
People living in the UK are only allowed to travel internationally for certain essential reasons. These include professional, educational, legal and medical reasons. Find more information here.
Anyone who is able to leave the UK to enter France will need to provide the following documentation (click here for documents):
A sworn statement certifying the absence of Covid-19 symptoms and absence of any contact with a confirmed case of Covid-19
A sworn statement of willingness to undergo further testing on arrival if asked to do so
A sworn statement of willingness to voluntarily self-isolate for seven days and, if aged 11 or more, to undergo a virology screening (PCR) test at the end of the isolation period
For those aged 11 years and above, a virology screening test (PCR) carried out less than 72 hours before boarding, showing no Covid-19 contamination
As detailed above, UK residents are currently restricted from travelling abroad apart from in limited circumstances, however the UK states that it is acceptable for those visiting from elsewhere to travel home.
In the case that you have visited the UK from France, you should bring with you evidence of being a French resident, as it may be required on leaving the UK and you should show it on re-entering France so as not to have your passport stamped as a visitor.
This could include a new 'Withdrawal Agreement' residency card, an attestation of having applied for one, or otherwise other evidence such as an EU citizen's residency card or recent utility bills.

Re: Continental updates please
The problem when visiting France is getting back into the UK.... Its very expensive for all the tests and isolation....
To travel from Spain via France then uk with isolation is currently around 1000 euro.... And a few more grey hairs chasing the 72 hr travel deadlines after being given all clear covid tests....
It really ain't happening fast...

I was watching the Portuguese TV news and the announcement of the extension of the state of emergency, and the plan to exit lockdown. I knew beforehand that there was no way they`d lift the restrictions before Easter. That`s why they`ve put travel restrictions in place for two weekends around Easter. Travel to districts outside your own is also forbidden

Spain:
From Monday 15th March, people in Aragon can travel throughout the whole of Aragon and not just be confined to their region (Teruel, Zaragoza or Huesca).
Also from the 15th March, travel is allowed throughout the whole of Catalonia, but only if you travel alone or with your partner, and you must not travel to meet other people (basically you can travel for a change of scenery, not to socialise).
Provincial borders remain closed to all but essential travel which must be justified.

Looking at other countries Italy/France and Germany/Poland & Balkan countries - rates are rising fast (highest daily infection rates since November) and they are locking down shops and schools againFlipflop wrote:A step in the right direction.AlanHolt wrote: ↑Fri Mar 12, 2021 7:49 pm Spain:

Spain will be the same soon
I cannot see any steps in the right direction?
Foreign European travel will be severely restricted in 2021 and I doubt we will get across on our bikes this year
