hi lads there's a few new rules to the rallye,details in a mo. (thumbs)

Makes a lot of sense & brings it back into line with it's original purpose, a touring MOTORCYCLIST on a MOTORCYCLE rally.

although sensible, i suspect that if those rules are strictly enforced that the Elephant will loose some of its character.

I think the changes are long overdue because there always seem to be as many people pulling carts or sledges down the road from parked cars and vans as there are bikes being ridden there. It's a motorbike rally for bikes and their riders/passengers, not a party for people who like the so called biker lifestyle but don't want to ride in the winter.

No idea. There used to be a few go to the Elefant early in the week before it got busy and once they'd got their badge & sticker they'd pack up and go to the Tauerntreffen in Austria so maybe they're trying to stop that?

I can understand some people leaving on Saturday if they've got a long journey home but that's a different situation.

I'd suggest it is to prevent someone from "marking out/reserving" a tent space without actually erecting a tent.

Think of it as a rule prohibiting the placement of a towel on the sun lounger beside the pool at 6am :whistle:

So what's the difference between the Alte Elefant and the Elefant apart from the distance between sites.Thinking of going to the Alte in 2015.
