any tips please

hi im heading up north on tes wild camping,on the beach.i was thinking of taking a fishing rod,and try to catch some mackerel,any tips.as it,s years since i did any fishing.cheers al

If your fishing for maceral, get a boat..

We catch mackerel off the rocks down here (Cornwall) using plugs and spinners. Best all purpose lure is a Dexter Wedge, in a weight to suit your rod.

Only ever tried fishing once,40 years ago. That was off rocks, Gower, Sth Wales... caught mackerel. Cooked fresh - wonderful!
