Importing Transferring Routes saved in Xpedition2 to the Active20 using Wifi

Post by StevieC »

I'm really pleased with the Satmap Active 20.
One feature I'd like to make use of is Importing Routes saved in Xpedition2 to the Active20 using Wifi.
I've searched you tube for a little tutorial - but no joy.
I can't find anything using Google search for other forums etc either.
I'm confident my Xpedition2 account and all the settings on the Satmap 20 are correct as the Xpedition2 folder appears on the Satmap20 in the "folders" as it should.

The routes all appear nicely in the "My Expeditions" folders on the Xpedition2 website.

But when I "refresh" on the Satmap 20, they don't move over.

It has the latest software on it i.e. the green dot appears next to the Wi-Fi symbol.

I've tried the restarts, reboots, logging in/out etc but I'm just going round in circles!! :x :x

A little idiots bullet point guide would be fantastic.

Thanks in advance

Steve

I’m a long time user of SatMap devices, had an active 20 for a few years now and a 12 before that. I pretty sure the wifi only allows transferring between SatMap devices, you have to use the USB cable and SatSync between your device and PC.

Thanks for the post Scott, this is what the User manual says

"The Wi-Fi connectivity on the Active 20 serves 2
purposes :
a. Download Software Updates,
b. Sync your routes and activies with Xpedition
Online Route Planner."

It also says elsewhere
"Wi-Fi connectivity for
Software Update
(Route Sync - pending)"

Which I didn't spot before? So, perhaps as you say - the software for this function isn't fully developed yet.
I've tried Satmap's technical support a couple of times and had nothing back
except an auto generated email saying they'll respond in 24hrs

Transferring between devices appears to be done using bluetooth with the "fetch" button.

6.7 Bluetooth Settings
(MAIN MENU . Settings . Bluetooth)
Shared Data hops to the SHARED DATA screen
which allows you to see and fetch other Active 20
users' route data.
Fetch Data. Back on the SHARED DATA screen,
items that have been made shareable by other Active
20's can be viewed by highlighting that device using
the rocker pad, and then either a centre press of the
rocker pad or the Select button will take you to their
"catalogue" data. Press Fetch to transfer that item to
you device. As the transfer occurs an information box
will display "Data downloading in progress ... Please
wait".

Thanks again Scott
