With a new bike on the way, and thefts apparently rife...I need somewhere to store it: not content with it under cover and not blessed with pockets big enough for a house with garage has anyone got a bike box or big shed thing? can anybody recommend one? ta

not the most secure home .. but better than a bike cover .. very easy to use … just lurve mine …. best to chain the bike to a post or summat as well .. and cover the seat as the local cats love em.

If you can a good ground anchor will help.
If bike has a centre stand, chain center stand to front wheel, stops the bike being taken off center stand so long as chain is right length.

Use a cover not ideal but it will help.

I looked at metal and plastic sheds whilst I was considering getting a new shed. The only thing that put me of was the issues of condensation. So if storing a bike make sure of good ventilation.

I feel your pain, I hated it when I had to leave the bike outside.

There are some really sturdy metal bike sheds out there but they are a bit pricey, I nearly got one of these:

But instead I moved to a house with a garage.

Getting something solid a to chain it to like a ground anchor should be a minimum, then a cover. I used to just use a canvas bike cover with a little lock to tie the bottom together but these days I would probably go for the framed cover (like this )if you have room and can secure it to the ground - you don't want it blowing away! And try to make sure it doesn't have a motorcycle-based logo on it like some do!

I have one of these Yardmaster Metal Sheds. It's been in my back yard for nearly 15 years, has had up to 3 motorcycles in it plus tools, bits of wood that I'll eventually use, etc. They are ventilated so there isn't really a condensation issue.

Id rather they take the bike if it means not breaking into the house to get the keys... out of sight out of mind....
