The long way up. UPDATED WITH VIDEO

Post by Jelly »

Since getting my new bike in January I'm finally going to do something constructive with it, I'm off at 5am tomorrow for a weekend jaunt up to Newcastle (from Kent) to visit my brother, also a biker with a kwikasfuki GTR 1400, then 2 days of touring those great northern roads. :woohoo:

Not much by some adventures posted on here, but it is to me, especially as I'm going alone too, no back up like Ewan & Thingy.

And I'll be covering........a whole 1000 miles.

Sounds a good trip! Some nice roads around that part... I've been to the Beamish Trophy Trial a couple of times in that area. Hopefully doing it myself this year too :)

Mate of mine came "op norff" from Suffolk and decided to come via the Cat and Fiddle. No sat naff ... went off course trying to get past Sheffield, Leeds, Bradford area and ended up in Manchester :( Took him 9 hours to get to "T Dales" when it should have been 5 to 6

Sounds similar to us. We're heading to Settle in the Y.Dales on Friday (not at 5am though  ). Anyone recommend any roads better than the A1M? Then Sunday across to near Scunthorpe for a day with the Monster in Law :(
Still, be a good chance to get some air into the Tigers lungs (and try to stay on it ;) )

Cheers
