Hi there,
I owned a BMW R1150GS a good few years ago now but had to sell it to pay the bills
I’ve had a lot of different style bikes since but it’s the Adventure style I miss so on the lookout for something similar again. I’m thinking less cc so either the BMW F800GS or a Triumph Tiger 800 would be ideal.

Thanks for the welcome. I’m also looking at maybe going even smaller in cc and price. Weighing up the CB500X , G310GS or CRF250 Rally.

Hi and welcome, sorry to hear that you had to get rid of one of the great bikes.
If you're looking at mainly road adventures, then the DL650 is a cracking bike. I had one in between my current Z900RS and various R1100, 1150 and 1200GS's. Also had a CB500X which doesn't quite have the same grunt as the DL650, but can be more easily adapted for rougher road riding.

I have to admit the DL650 wasn’t on the radar at all but I’ll certainly have a look now. Any particular year/spec better than another?Oop North John wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 1:55 pm Hi and welcome, sorry to hear that you had to get rid of one of the great bikes.

Re: Hi from North of the border
The one I had was a 2011 bike, a "Glee" as the original was a "wee" and my bike took the engine from the Gladius, hence the Glee The Glee was around a few years until the latest version which looks quite like the big brother and 250 versions. Probably the biggest difference is in the looks department, though the XT versions have spoked wheels, which might be a positive for some.Gee-ess wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 2:29 pmI have to admit the DL650 wasn’t on the radar at all but I’ll certainly have a look now. The 650 V-Strom was never a very expensive bike, so there could be bargains out there.
