ABR and Bridgestone Ireland Coast to Coast Route Files

Post by Bryn »

In Issue 51 of Adventure Bike Rider magazine we detailed a three-day route across Ireland for the second instalment of our Bridgestone Coast to Coast rides (part one was a wonderful ride across the Southern Uplands of Scotland). Starting in Dublin, we headed south into the Wicklow Mountains, riding the highest road in Ireland, Sally Gap. From here, it was a blast across the middle of the country, taking some lovely country roads along the way and tackling the Slieve Bloom Mountains. A quick stop at the iconic Craggy Island Parochial House (from Father Ted) comes before the dramatic Cliffs of Moher, ending day one on the west coast in a village called Kinvarra, where you'll find great Guinness and plenty of accommodation.

Day two sees us riding some of the wonderful coastal roads found on the Wild Atlantic Way, heading north to Westport, while day three is a blast back to Dublin to get the ferry home in time for work!

If you'd like to ride this route, we've plotted it out and split it into two days so that you can download it and stick it in your SatNav. Simply right click on the attachments below called 'Ireland Coast to Coast Day 1.gpx' and 'Ireland Coast to Coast Day 2' choose 'Save Link As', once you've saved it to your computer load it into your SatNav as per the manufacturers instructions and get riding!
