Dodursley ABR challenge 2017

Post by dodursley »

Limiting myself to old Gloucestershire county, ie Gloucestershire + South Gloucestershire. Unexpected decent afternoon so a bumble out on the early Transalp which immediately gave me V as it is 30 years old and can be used in many VMCC events under their 25 year rule.

Down the road to Glos's only beach Severn Beach up to late 60's? it had a pool- Blue Lagoon, had our school swimming galas there, never warm! and funfair and pleasure gardens, all gone now and just a dormitory village for Bristol, still has a railway station though.

A Cotswold Airport (Kemble) which is home to some aircraft breakers/dismantlers J junkyard, the Fosse crosses the airfield. Stopped off for a coffee at AV8 which had 20-30 SLKs and Boxters parked outside apparently their meeting point, no roofs down though.

D Dowdswell Dam the bigest in Glos, I think, very unimpressive even more so from bike accessable side, just a grass bank with sheep grazing. Lake side at least looks more like a dam but cannot get bike in pic from there.

of course, I did get the CT90 as a Christmas present to myself two years ago (Jan 2015).
I could put some lights on the tree and put the lot on the carrier,it fits, for N!
Only got F (Speech Stone, FoD) & N to do.

F- Forest of Dean the Speech Stone, marks the centre of the forest at Speech House where the Verderers Court met to maintain the forest laws.
Out for a ride to sort out more of the route for our club Daffodil run through the Glos Daffodil triangle then through the Forest to the Wye Valley, though I will not be using the Vara for the run.
