Enjoying this. Love the accommodation decisions taken on the fly, it's my sort of trip.

Thanks Toni, yes its a nice way to travel - not tied to any particular location, makes everything very flexible and with the changeable weather in Scotland perfect for this trip.

So onward to Kinlochleven and a quick photo stop on the way down

Soon after, we rolled into the campsite in Kinlochleven, it was quite busy and very nicely located , within the village

The pods were well finished & equipped - which was to be expected as they were made in Northern Ireland!!

LOL - you will like this bit Bob - There was another two GSA riders making their way over from Northern Ireland to join us the next day and were wild camping at Loch Doon in Galloway Forest Park, whilst the weather was great with them, it was starting to get pretty miserable with us, luckily we had got our takeaway ordered and had returned to our Pod before it kicked in.

The weather forecast for this part of Scotland was for lots of rain the next day (Friday) - so a revision of our plans was needed and we decided that we would RV with the new arrivals in Aberfoyle, roughly half way between our two destinations.

Friday morning and started (briefly) with no rain, back up the A82 and a stop at the Green Welly for food and coffee, by which time it was raining pretty hard. However as we got closer to Aberfoyle the rain was left behind and we were into a rain free spell, allowing us to enjoy the Dukes Pass before riding into the village and parking up on the main street beside a coffee shop. We were soon joined by Andy and Oplo.

We knew a very nice spot that we had wild camped before near here - so we headed out the B829, just outside the village to Loch Chon - a beautiful location

Unfortunately a sign at the site informed us this was now a "no wild camping zone" :(

So - another search on google and a nearby bunkhouse/campsite was located - at Inversnaid, so a short ride continuing along the B829 to the end and a left turn onto an un-named road heading towards Loch Lomond -the bunkhouse was on the left a short distance down. The owners informed us they were fully booked but for £10 each we could pitch our tents at the front and avail of their facilities, which included a restaurant and bar - perfect! A nice setting with the main building being a converted church

A great night craic was had, good food, drink, cards & company. The next morning revealed that the rain had passed over. Some of the others were still tucked up in their tents, so I took myself off down to the end of the road to the carpark at the Inversnaid Hotel - closed due to the restrictions.

Great views across Loch Lomond..

Gubbo & Oplo arrived soon after for a bit of fishing below the Inversnaid Falls beside the hotel

Soon the rest of the party were up and gear all packed away. We all headed back to Aberfoyle and availed of a spot of breakfast in one of the cafe's

The rest of the party wanted to go to see the Falkirk Wheel. I was happy to give it a miss and go and check out another wee bit of Scotland that I had not been to - the area around Otter ferry.

Before we split up however we all rode back up the Dukes Pass and did the Three Lochs Forest Drive - a 7 mile unsurfaced forest road that took in some great views - unfortunately no pictures as we did not stop - too busy enjoying ourselves!!

After the forest drive we parted and went our separate ways - we would meet up again later in the day.

So, off i went for a bit of solo - I made my way back round to Inveraray, and back along the shore of Loch Eck. Stopped for a wee break to take in the views.

Got chatting to a guy ad his wife who had parked up in their campervan - he told me about an app that had lots of info on free camping locations

Called Park4nite - have never got round to trying it out - but he swore by it.

Anyway, I headed back along the A815, then, at Dalinlongart turned right into the B836, followed to the end and another right into the A886, then the 2nd left onto a single track un-named road, not a great surface on the way up, but great views from the top
