Then on to Sainte - Mere - Eglise were we met up with Allan and swapped stories over a bite to eat. A nice village square with the life - size Americian Airborne soldier dummy hanging off the church spire to commerate the Americian Airborne landing on the village on the eve of D day
We then all visited the Americian Airborne Museum, my second time here, but still well worth the visit.
From here it was a leisurely ride along the coast back to Cherbourg.
A smooth crossing back to Ireland , and witnessed a pod of whales off the side of the ferry - a great end to another great trip.
Total milage about 3100.
A great time of the year to visit these areas as the traffic was very light - the heaviest traffic we encountered was riding round Dublin on our way home.
Until next time.
