A great day's riding was had and we arrived at St Andre Les Alps around 6. Time to look for a campsite. One was located south of the town, along the N202 which skirted along the side of an impressive reservior, near Saint - Julien-du-Verdun, however upon arrival we were told it was for campervans only. Luckily we spotted another campsite sign nearby and it was open for buisness, very basic, basicially a large field with a small washroom/toilet block, but we were glad of it. Our tents were soon up, food being cooked, wine being poured & headtorches primed.

Tomorrow we would be heading east towards the Alps

You just gotta love France. It just works travelling along and deciding to stop somewhere. 8-)

We were now in the Alps, as you would expect great scenry, great mountains. At Isola we had a quick fuel stop, then took the M97 from the centre of Isola and up to the border with Italy were we stopped for a bite to eat and take in the fantastic scenery in all directions

The lady pursuaded us to try her Tiramisu, we were in Italy, so why not, as you would expect it was really good.

After our break we crossed over back into France and unto the D900, soon we spotted a campsite just off the road and checked it out. It was open so we booked ourselves into Camping des Marmottes. A great site in a great location

Our tents were soon up, some clothes washed and out to dry, Heff then got out his gazebo which was great for getting together with the cards and wine in the evening (after we told Allan he could not use it as a GS shelter

We spotted a resturant on the way into the campsite, so we walked up to it and had a very nice local meal, lots of local in which is always a good sign. It was then back to the campsite for cards and wine. The weather forcast for tomorrow was giving rain - still, can't complain.
