Another County Down one today-Cloughy Rocks Strangford Lough. A great place to view some of the local seal population that hauls themselves out unto the rocks at low tide.

Had a food stop here today-no tables to avail of, but a nice grass bank to sit on

No sandwich is complete without a packet of Tayto cheese & onion (thumbs)

Directions-From Strangford village, follow the road along the coast towards Ardglass. Cloughy Rocks is on the left about a mile and a half.

A little video I put together a few years ago when I went to Norn Iron after the Ullapool rally, including the Carrick-a-rede rope bridge, Dunce Castle and the NW 200 course. My only regret is that I haven't been back again since. A beautiful place.
Why? Why not?

Great day for a ride in the Glens of Antrim. Stopped for lunch at Glenariff (Queen of the glens).

Another County Down site visited recently

Island Hill, Ringcreevy Rd, located off the Comber to Newtownards Duel Carriageway. Great views down Strangford Lough. Well served with picnic tables & toilets.

Did a monitoring exercise for archaeology at Islandhill some years ago, came across some structures and a bronze age polished axe. Islandhill is also a Mesolithic (c. 7000BC) occupation site

Report here for those interested: http://www.qub.ac.uk/schools/CentreforA ... 976,en.pdf

Also really close to the prehistoric site of Rough Island.
