As this is our first meet, I suggest we start off with a gentle run. I have tracks that will last us all day but we will never be too far from the A10 so people can drop out as they wish. I suggest we meet at
9.30 am at the Total Service Station - Broxbourne High Street, EN10 6PY ( going North , on the right before Cozens Lane East ).

Please confirm that you are coming.

Yes, I'm up for this, just working out how many lanes I can fit in on the way to Broxbourne

Thanks to Bumblebeemer and Davegsx for a great ride out. Managed to ride a few lanes on the Essex side that I'd never done before.

Bumblebeemer brought along his new 950 Adventure to play and Dave had his trusty 660 Tenere. Sadly Dave had to butt out early so missed our fun little trip up Violets Lane at Furneaux Pelham.

So come on all you guys who want to have a go at green laning, apart from the last lane (If you don't know, Violets Lane is reputedly the longest ford in Europe) which was a trifle damp (but actually drier than i've seen it in years), any large Adventure Bike could have managed.

Road tyres would have been fine as grip was never an issue.

Come on you know you want to!

It was great to meet you Madcow.

It was good fun yesterday.
Just for clarity, although the guy on the XT was called Dave, he is not Davegsx.
I guess we could call him DaveXT !

Will post some pictures of the ride when I get a moment.

Always the problem when we have "dual personalities" I got confused because Dave said he used to have a GS so I put two and two together and came up with something other than four!

Cheers

Gotcha. Assumptions are dangerous. Just like me, assuming that a BOAT on my map is still legal to ride .....

I've checked out that third lane we (accidently) rode  it starts as a byway, becomes a footpath for twenty yards (where all the metal detectorists* had parked their cars!!!) then becomes a byway again, then just before the T junction becomes a footpath again (where the second sign was) for about another 20 yards. Then if you turn left it's a restricted byway up to the tarmac. However if you turn right on the identical gravel track, that's a county road. No wonder you got confused

*I am reliably informed thats what they call themselves
