A jewel in the Cotswolds.

Post by Peejay »

After last weekends Midlands Rally, I decided to have a ride out in the Cotswolds again as they are not very far from me.

Had SWMBO on the pillion, and she wanted lunch. So a little explore off the main roads lead to this:

What a location for a pub!! With its own campsite!! With facilities!!
Great pub food, open all day!!

Had a guided tour from the owner, who when asked if he catered for bike rallies, said,
'Give me a pub full of bikers any day'
And yes, he is very keen on Rallies and has catered for some recently.
Fire pits available. And the barn has its own bar and huge fireplace, which could be used.

There are quite a few legal byways in the area, and the glorious Cotswold countryside everywhere with some great roads and lovely villages. So plenty to suit everyone.

Another ABR Rally in the pipeline.

I think the residents of Bouton-on-the-water are still undergoing therapy  and the one in the Slaughters, anger management

Looks good Peejay. May try the Rally route again in a couple of weeks as a generous soul sent me the GPX file. :)

And one lies safe in the sunlight, and the other is dreary and wan, Yet you look aslant at the Lone Trail, and the Lone Trail lures you on....

I'd say so, but no on site enduro track. :(

But what a find!

Worth a ride to have a look Dave, just south of Cirencester on the A433 to Tetbury road, then follow the signs for the Tunnel Inn.

If this crap weather ever brightens up I'll have a bimble that way. :(
Unusual for me to want to ride to a pub.

Its called the Tunnel Inn because its next to a disused Canal Tunnel....the other end of the Tunnel is Sapperton which also has a pub The Daneway Inn with a Camp Site.

Excellent little lanes the width of footpaths in that area and the Walk from Sapperton to Stroud along the disused and derelict canal is one of the nicest you will find (goes past Stroud BMW shop too):)

Went to the Daneway first as that does excellent food, but not after 2pm, and they directed me to the Tunnel House Inn.
Great area.
