Biker down help with bike needed near Ayr

Post by Womble »

On our way up to Ullapool, Avishay had a rear tyre blow out I'm the M77 at 60. He's OK, just been discharged from Crosshouse Hospital. We're trying to work pit what to do with his bike. Currently with Police recovery. Trying to work out if theres a local bike shop we can take it to for repair and carry on. It's a F650GS Dakar, needs both right indicators, mirror pannier moony from what we could see
Anyone recommend a bike shop?
Cheers

That's a real bum. I am sure some local cavalry will be along with some good advice real soon.

Give the patient my best and hope he bounces back quickly

Hi loads of bike shops in the area
Ride on motorcycles Glasgow
MCS Renfrew
Mickey oats Glasgow

But no BMW dealers I would just carry on if
It's only some indicators and a mirror as long as the bike
Still rides ok just fix the tyre

Cheers

What is the damage to the pannier? And what is 'moony'?

My experience of accidents is that days 2 & 3 are often the worst from a stiffness and bruising point of view, so I would concur with the advice to do the minimum of repairs to get mobile and then press on to Ullapool ASAP.

Thanks folks for the encouraging words and support. Moony was mainly, my fat fingers on the phone! We' ll see what this morning brings when we ring the recovery place. One of the panniers mountings is broken so could ditch some luggage and will need to get him replacement jacket. Hopefully see you in Ullapool.

North Harbour MC in Ayr should be able to help out.

I am working in Kilmarnock till 1800hrs on Thursday. May be able to help with any kit storage till after ullapool. I live 2 miles from M74 for collecting it on your way home.

PM me if I can help.
