North York Moors - Dirty Trail ride - sun 28th Aug 11

Post by AckAckFlack »

Hi all

Looking at a day of playing on the trails in the North Yorkshire Moors

Date: Sunday 28th august

Starting at: Great Ayton and then heading over to Cropton

Difficulty: to some degree depends on who's up for it. I would say off road Tyres are a must as some of the routes will be a bit wet and muddy.

Who's up for it? : Ackackflack (Africa twin , tkc)
Dysan (KTM 950, Tyres summat knobbly )

Duration: a good day out, finishing when we or the bikes are broke ;)

Shout out if you are interested

Nooooooooooo, the only weekend youve been free for ages and Im away on a family holiday. Typical. Would have loved to join you but the missus would....well she would do stuff to me thats too scary to think about if I try and wangle out of the family break.

Memorise those trails for next time.

North York Moors - Dirty Trail ride - sun 28th Aug 11

Beddows, chill, there's plenty of trails to go around. We'll organise another when pyn's finished your motor. Then we'll unleash the two katooms. ;)

All after looking at the maps there's still quite a lot to explore in the north west of the moors. So start point stays the same but we're unlikely to make it as far south as Cropton forest, (Not in time for anyone to join us there anyway).

Happy to alter plans based on demand.

Wont be long now, but cant get to Pyn's until the weekend after the National to get it put back in the bike. Then I was thinking of another weekend away camping trails.....and North Yorkshire was on my list of places to do. Pretty much done all of North Wales and the Peaks, and a lot of Mid Wales now. Need to find some new trails to give me a new fix!

I want to come out and play:woohoo:

Get yourself down to the ABR Rally in South Wales in October and join the green lane ride out, from what I've seen from the pics you post up you'll be wanting a permanent move to the valleys :)

Tempting, but my sister in laws baby is due beginning October and the wife has already pre-warned me that I have to be available to travel to Nottigham to visit, so I cant commit to anything end Sept, beginning Oct. Like a baby will care if Im there anyway!

Thats why I can even plan another camping trails weekend for a specific weekend.

Im in a good position (geographically speaking) in that I live 35 miles from the Peaks and North Wales, and only 100 miles from the best Mid Wales has to offer.

Hmmm, had enough mud last weekend. Really struggled with the Africa Twin on K60's. Resolving that with a trip to PigUgly's tonight to get a front TKC.
