Stratford to the Boil route.

Post by Treadtrader »

I've been trying to get this route sorted on Tyre, but it's giving me an itch!

The route I've ridden before takes through the Peak district then through to the Yorkshire moors with no motorways.

Waypoints so far are................

Stratford start.
Lichfield
Ashbourne
Buxton
Whaley Bridge
Glossop
Holmfirth
Ripponden
Todmorden
Haworth
Keighley
Skipton
Kettle
Hawes
Garsdale Head
Natesby
Kirkby Stephen

Any suggestions are gladly recieved.

We'll be stopping for a cuppa at the checkpoints and a fag in between. Nice route TT, thanks for posting.

I'm packing a porta potty, so anytime, anyplace, anywhere. Just bring a bumper pack of bog rolls this is sounding like it has the makings long trip. And that's before we throw in some stops for piccies. I reckon we'll make it to Lichfield by sun down.

....although I can't make it, if you're going through Buxton you could always take a small detour to the western edge of town and ride the Buxton Old Road for a bit of off road action. Plenty wide and easy for big adventure bikes. I've ridden along it countless times on nothing better than Pirelli Scorpions.

If you need directions let me know ;)

Just in case you fancy it, the section is the red dotted track that starts just east of the Cat and Fiddle pub and finishes West of Burbage. Great views!

Thanks for the info mate, but as I'm gonna be loaded up with 5cwt of camping gear and the missus I'll give it a miss. :woohoo:

Even B roads may be a challenge. :woohoo:

Another time soon. ;)
