If you use the A580 from Swinton to Chapel Street you'll already have seen the new bus lane layout. Would be worth dropping a line to GM Transport at [email protected]
and asking them / requesting that they open the lane to motorcyclists. There is a useful doc to attach as well drawn up by the DFT about the use of bikes in bus lanes. I sent that along with my email and have attached it here if you want to use it (it's actually quite an interesting read). Would be great to be able to use the lane, and far safer - just think of all those drivers changing lanes all over, no indicating, but us be able to whisk up the bus lane without hassle (thumbs)
