Stayed at Dolgoch Wilderness lodge for 2 nights. Can really recommend it.

Talk about remote......9 miles to the nearest shop along a single track road. Its basic, but thats part of its charm. No electricity. Just small LED's downstairs charged by solar panels. No lights upstairs so torches needed. Water comes from taps, but is fed from a stream.....so boil water first (or use steri tabs!). Large kitchen area fully kitted out. Great log burner....but it only heats 1 room so will be cold upstairs in the colder months.

Amazing place just to get away from it all. Biker friendly. 7 of us turned up with enduro bikes. £10 a night. Bargain.

Best bit - its 0.6 miles to the main (single track) road along a dirt track, turn right, 150 meters on tarmac and its the start of the Strata Florida!!!! Perfect base for a weekends trail riding.

And at the end of the day we all hung our wet gear above the log burner to dry out and cooked some grub and had a few beers.

Theres approx 20 beds so ideal for larger groups. Us 7 had the place to ourselves for the weekend.

Beats tenting anyday.

It is a wild and beautiful place, with silence broken only by a gurgling stream, the bleating of sheep or the call of a bird ...... or a xt660 on full chat lol.

looks great !!
