I was passing Moto Camp last week and called in. Spoke to a really nice lady who made me feel very welcome.
Nice cozy site, I particularly liked the bar area, I bet there's some shite talked in there at the back end of August!
I just know there'll be some great tracks and trails to explore in the area.
Sadly, I can't make this meet, but I bet it's going to be a belter!

Hi all.
Hope you all have a good journey down and I look forward to meeting up with you at motocamp. Luckily I set off a few days ago (but have had some of Birtha's weather) Just having a coffee at the Slovakian border.
The forcast is for the weather to settle down by the weekend so you should be lucky.
Right off to explore Slovakia then off to Hungary then have a few days (in one place) to explore the Transfagarasan area and road sans luggage.
Safe journey. ....

Hi, as you seem to be the ground breaker, we have had some reports that the Transalpina is closed due to landslides, when you get to that area any chance you could keep all of us following up to date with a few reports .. Cheers see you at the Motocamp

Stevew I guess that lady at the camp was Polly, the dogs name is harley, and your correct Steve many a night been spent in that bar talking absolute crap lol

Ok will do.
My plan is to stop where you are at Alba (same pension) then to do Transalpine loop to get to top end of Transfagarasan where I am stopping for 3 nights.
So yes when I get over to Romania I will post some road updates. If anything is serious or urgent I will text you to make sure you get it.

Prompier.......At the south side of the pass on the right hand side, just after Hotel Dracula (I kid you not!) there is a nice little place with a timber open plan bar, they have little timber "sheds" at the back with a nice toilet/shower block. These are nice and cosy and very cheap. Oh, and motorcycles are welcome!
If you are heading over the Freedom bridge into Bulgaria, the town of Ruse just over the bridge is very nice, get into the centre, hotels will be cheap. From Ruse it will be a 3 hour ride to Moto camp.

Hi Mark, the Transalpina is rideable, the signs say it is closed but my friends rode it 2 weeks ago, was lots of rocks and dried mud where there had been a landslide but it's passable on a motorbike with care (thumbs) may even be open by now.
They also got knicked for speeding and over taking on white lines in Arad, was loads of police everywhere.
See you all at Motocamp B)

Hi. Rode it today in fabulous weather. All was good, there have been landslides and road washed away in places but all easily rideable. Transfagarasan tomorrow. See you at motocamp.
