Re: Piel Trail Ride
I know a good campsite near Grizedale Forest, prob about 10 miles from Langdale - groups not a problem, camp fire ok, pub nearby, but nothing else much to speak of in the vicinity.beddowsm wrote: Thanks for letting me know. I'm on holiday for the next week and half. Ill look into this and other campsites when I get back.

Re: Piel Trail Ride
Thanks jimmy. Ill contact them and will post up here when I know. Last time we went to great langdale we booked as a group of 6 and said we would be on bikes. Apparently they were not impressed when we turned up on motor bikes and not push bikes.
Re: Piel Trail Ride
Haha, yeah, some sites up there can be a bit pissy about things like that. Should have added, I'm up there from Thursday onwards so can prep him for it if need be?beddowsm wrote:Thanks jimmy. Re: Piel Trail Ride
Thanks, I've just sent them an email. Asking if its ok for an unknown number just to turn up on the Friday night. If so, ill post the campsite on the main piel rally thread. Some cracking trails local to this site.jimmyshin wrote:Haha, yeah, some sites up there can be a bit pissy about things like that. Re: Piel Trail Ride
Afraid it's a no. They only take 2 night bookings. Shame how many campsites seem to do this. It's like they are throwing custom away IMO. Looks like we are all on our own for Friday night camping, unless anyone else knows of sites that don't mind people turning up without booking. And for 1 night.jimmyshin wrote:This one - http://grizedale-camping.co.uk/ - go up several times a year, know the farmer quite well now  - LA12 8LL for your sat-navsbeddowsm wrote:
