Re: bikehike.co.uk died?
my usual internet based route planner bikehike.co.uk seems to have died, gone the same way as another old favourite of mine GPX Editor. Dam did like them too saved having to find the montana and wire it up to basecamp and all that, to knock up a quick route/track. Anyone using any other free OS bas...

Re: RT to GS and Off Road Skills Course
The BMW off road skills course, I did it in 2003. Was good vfm then. I had a Pegaso 650 back then, and first rode an 1150 GSA - off road only- for part of the weekend. Most was on an F650GS. Great instruction. Fabulous weekend.

Re: EU. In or out?
I am positive that if the original vote was to remain, leavers would have shrugged their shoulders, said ‘we had a go’ and that would be it. No offence intended but you are deluding yourself. Farage himself said that if the vote went 52% : 48% in favour of Remain it would be "Unfinished busine...

Re: EU. In or out?
...so we are back to best of 3 or 5 or 7..... It's not a best of. 2016 voted in ignorance of what "leave" meant The probable consequences are now known. 2019 let's vote again in case we have changed our minds now that we are no longer in ignorance. Where is the problem? If leave wins this...

Re: Electric Bikes... the Future?
It looks like the price is coming down to be more in line with ICE motorcycles: 2019 NEW Stock Zero FXS 7.2 - £8,990 RRP Zero S 7.2 11kw w/charge tank - £11,490 RRP Zero S 14.4 - £12,190 RRP That means the value of used ones will be falling too. Good news for those who can't afford new, not so good...

Re: What3words app?
As for alternatives, if we really have to use something other than actual co-ordinates, I like Plus Codes (https://plus.codes/). Perhaps not as easy to remember, but it achieves the same goals, whilst remaining free and open (not to mention that it works in google maps already) I'd never heard of p...

Re: What3words app?
I think it's a solution to a problem that doesn't really exist. Quite possibly true Daryl, and most of the criticism is based upon it's use in emergency situations. I've never used it in an emergency situation. I find it novel and fun to use - for meeting up in places that are not street addresses,...

Re: Himalayan v 500 efit bullet
Not tried the Himalayan yet, but tried the EFI 500 Classic in India, then back in Blighty two up. In India the 500EFI Classic was absolutely suited to the Indian traffic and terrain. On UK roads I found the 500 lacking. Traffic is so much faster in the UK than India and the feeling of vulnerability ...
