Go for it. I visited New Zealand in February a few years back. Absolutely amazing country to visit. I'd get you bike sorted sooner than later if you're hiring one. I use a Nikon D7000 for most of the photos. The ones that are a bit shady were taken on my phone a P20 Pro.
